Workshop goals (what people should be able to do in 1 hour)
By the end, each participant can:
- Run a fast, effective pre-interview that makes the artist comfortable and prevents surprises.
- Facilitate a live conversation that centers the musician (not the DJ) and stays on track.
- Use mic technique that avoids feedback, noise, and “mystery echo.”
- Handle common mistakes and technical issues calmly on-air.
- Identify FCC underwriting + plugola/payola red flags in a live music setting.
Format and staffing
- Length: 60 minutes
- Facilitator: Program Director
- Guest coaches: At least 2 experienced Blue Spruce DJs
