Blue Spruce Show: Naked Dawn for Latin Communities in Grand County

On November 13, KFFR hosted a special Blue Spruce in-studio performance with Naked Dawn, created to honor and celebrate the Latin community in Grand County through music, connection, and shared space.

The studio filled with warmth, rhythm, and reflection as Naked Dawn delivered a powerful live performance that blended sound, story, and emotion. The show was intentionally bilingual, welcoming both English- and Spanish-speaking listeners, and creating a space where everyone could feel included and represented.

We were proud to have Grand Latin, Mountain Family Center on site as a supporter of this Blue Spruce Show, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and cultural connection in our community. Their presence highlighted the role local organizations play in building welcoming, inclusive spaces across Grand County.

A huge thank-you goes to Pepe Osaka’s Fishtaco Tequila Bar & Grill, our business sponsor for the event, who generously served up free tacos for all attendees — adding to the warmth, hospitality, and celebration of the afternoon.

The show was expertly MC’d by DJ Lala, whose energy and care helped guide the performance and conversations throughout the event. Adding to the joy of the day, DJ Lala’s visiting parents were also in attendance, making the gathering feel even more personal and family-centered.

Blue Spruce shows are designed to be intimate, meaningful experiences that bring people together through music. This November performance was a powerful reminder that community radio is about more than what goes out over the airwaves — it’s about who feels seen, heard, and welcomed when they walk through our doors.
