Our monthly Blue Spruce Show is back at KFFR Studios, and this May, we are bringing the soulful sounds of Drew Dvorchak to the stage! 

Straight out of Evergreen, CO, Drew Dvorchak and his band deliver a high-octane mix of Blues Rock blended with Funk, Improvisation, and Traditional Folk.

Liver Down the River

Liver Down The River music is a blend of original and improvisational compositions that take the listener on a journey. Each member brings their own inspirations and elements to the sound. From the high peaks of bluegrass, the deepest pockets of the funk, and the outer reaches of space, a unique genre of music is created. Inspiration comes from the band’s collective adventures, love of nature, the following of the soul, and the drive to keep on moving on.

Jubilingo

Based out of Denver, this powerhouse quartet is known for a high-energy cocktail of soulful vocals, funky grooves, and a touch of bluesy rock that’s guaranteed to light up the airwaves. Their sound is the perfect soundtrack for a mountain night, blending tight musicianship with a vibe that is pure, infectious fun.

We are thrilled to have hosted them for a live studio performance and broadcast that will bring that big-city soul right to the heart of Grand County.

Banshee Tree blurs the lines between jazz, indie, psych and electro-swing. Their live performance  showcased intricately composed, emotional songs with high energy, trance like grooves.

Based out of Denver, Banshee Tree has shared the stage with many national acts including Greensky Bluegrass, Balkan Bump, Twiddle and Leftover Salmon, and they tour nationally for growing audiences.

Bridgette Spinney

Bridgette Spinney is a songwriter and country artist whose music feels like a love letter to the golden era of country. Inspired by legends such as Emmylou Harris, Merle Haggard, and Kitty Wells, her songs explore timeless themes of love and longing with raw honesty and heart.

Her singles “Last Cigarette” and “I Feel the Same Way” showcase an authentic sound rooted in classic country storytelling, delivered with warmth and sincerity. Based in Denver, Bridgette is dedicated to keeping traditional country music alive for a new generation.

Kris Lager & Band

Fronted by Kris Lager, the band’s dynamic sound carried messages of joy, resilience, and the healing power of music — themes that resonate deeply with our Grand County community. Listeners were treated to soaring guitar solos, rich harmonies, and storytelling that felt both timeless and alive.

The show was hosted by DJ Coop, who guided the crowd through this unforgettable hour of live music and conversation.

 

 Dan Raza

Hosted by DJ Conductor Joe we heard the UK-born singer-songwriter, Dan Raza, whose music blends the raw storytelling of folk with the rich textures of Americana. His style is both intimate and universal—melodic ballads full of heart, honesty, and a sense of journey. Whether reflecting on the human condition or painting landscapes through song, Raza has a gift for weaving lyrics that stay with you long after the last note fades.

During his performance, Dan captivated the live audience with soulful vocals, intricate guitar work, and stories that brought listeners closer to his roots and artistry.

LowDown Brass

 

We’re still buzzing from the energy when LowDown Brass Band brought their Chicago-style funk and brass power straight into our studios!

From the blasting horns to the sharp rhymes, they shook the walls and filled Fraser with unforgettable sound.

A huge shoutout to DJ Mateo, who MC’d the event and walked us through one of the most electric Blue Spruce shows we’ve ever hosted. 

Big thanks again to Elevation Pizza for fueling the crowd and keeping the vibes alive with free slices.

Lance Rogers & Daniel Cain

KFFR Studios were filled with the soulful sounds of Kentucky as singer-songwriters Lance Rogers and Daniel Cain took the stage for an unforgettable Blue Spruce Members-Only Show, hosted by KFFR’s DJ Coop.

Their performance was a masterclass in vivid songwriting—honest, heartfelt, and deeply rooted in storytelling traditions that stretch from Appalachia to the Rockies. With voices full of grit and grace, Lance and Daniel reminded us what it means to sing from the heart and write from the soul.

Joe Waters

As part of our Blue Spruce Members-Only concert series, we welcomed Joe Waters, the 2024 International Blues Challenge award-winner, for a live performance that was both powerful and deeply personal. Accompanying him was Andy Holquist, his longtime bassist and friend, whose playing brought depth and warmth to every note.

The afternoon was guided by DJ Kai Turner, host of Strictly Blues and a walking encyclopedia of blues history. Kai not only MC’d the event but led a rich, engaging conversation with Joe that touched on the artist’s Kentucky roots, the emotional landscape of his songwriting, and the artists and experiences that have shaped his musical journey.

Obsessed by mandolin, guitar and groomed by bluegrass festival culture, Michael has carved a unique presence in the Colorado singer-songwriter, string band and rock scene. With a voice that ranges from a quiet rumble to powerful mountain-top exclamation, Michael’s passionate vocals bring to life lyrics about dreams, sensuality, and reverence for nature.

Cousin Curtiss

Cousin Curtiss brings to the stage a fiery dynamic rarely seen by a solo act and now partnered up with the equally enigmatic and soulfully driven electric guitar prowess of Harrison B, these two road warriors are on a mission to electrify audiences everywhere with their two-man full-band sound.

Think, “blues at bluegrass speeds.” Imagine, “rock americana with a soulful drip.” Experience rapid fire acoustic guitar, incendiary harmonica, fiercely energized solos, all driven by a thunderous kick drum.

Marfa 

Born and raised to a Texas country soundtrack, shaped in Colorado by a love of rock icons past and present, and inspired by California’s Laurel Canyon spirit.

Marfa brought their sound to Grand County. Listen to them live on the KFFR Studio Stage, where mountain air meets music and community.
