KFFR & KWTR Pivoting Due to Funding Opportunity Cut

Local News, Powered by Volunteers

As public radio funding shifts, KFFR and KWTR have had to pivot from getting the change for outside dollars to creating news segments. And honestly? That’s what makes our station special.

The Pivot

Here in Grand County, the people you know are the ones bringing you the reports you want or need as 100% volunteers:

  • Water Report – Grand County Water, Learning by Doing, UCWET, Trout Unlimited, Grand County Wildfire Council, DJ Wheeler, Headwaters Center
  • Snow Report – Winter Park Ski Patrol
  • Avalanche Report – Colorado Avalanche Information Center
  • GCW Weather – JP, aka DJ GCW
  • Nordic Ski Report – Grand Nordic
  • Big Mike Sports Report – Big Mike, aka Mike Wilson
  • Colorado Concert Calendar – DJ Scatter (Scott Williamson)

These segments are created by your neighbors, for your neighbors. It’s grassroots, it’s authentic, and it keeps Grand County connected.

When you tune in, you’re not just listening to the radio. You’re hearing the voices of your own community.
