2024 – Strengthening Panther Radio

We are grateful for the support from the Town of Granby, which has significantly enhanced the Panther Radio program at Middle Park High School (MPHS). Here’s a summary of the impact made through this partnership:

  • Funding Amount: $1,600 awarded by the Town of Granby.
  • Items Purchased:
    • RAID Backup System: Essential for recording and archiving broadcasts, enabling students to pre-record and store programming.
  • Key Outcomes:
    • Expanded Student Engagement: Enhanced opportunities for students to participate in media and broadcasting.
    • Increased Programming Capacity: Students can now create original content and air live announcements over the PA system.
  • Collaborations:
    • Partnership with East Grand School District: Established Panther Radio in the Career and Technical Building at MPHS.
    • Homegrown Talent Initiative: Ongoing training for interns to effectively use the new equipment.
    • Athletic Director Collaboration: Working with Scotty Hicks to create more sports broadcasting opportunities.
  • Future Plans:
    • Actively seeking local businesses for sponsorship through underwriting and promotions.
