Fraser Valley Community Media has begun a planned leadership transition as it prepares for its next chapter of growth.

With more than 75 volunteer DJs, a dedicated staff of four, strong financial footing, and meaningful partnerships throughout Grand County, Fraser Valley Community Media is well positioned for its next chapter.
Ryan Wilson will continue supporting the organization in a part-time engineering and technical advisory role after the transition is complete, helping provide continuity for the station’s technical infrastructure and broadcast operations.
“In many ways, this positions fulfills a new role for the organization,” Wilson said. “The next Executive Director will have the opportunity to implement their vision for community radio, build the funding needed to achieve that vision, and strengthen FVCM’s role as a countywide community resource.”

History of KFFR and KWTR: Fraser Valley Community Media, operating KFFR and KWTR, is a community hub for Grand County, empowering people through broadcasting while supporting the local economy and the arts by partnering with local businesses, nonprofits and municipalities. It was founded in 2007, when the FCC opened a brief application window for full-power, noncommercial educational FM radio license operating. We were granted the license for KFFR, broadcasting at 10,000 watts. We received a second license for KWTR in 2022 to broadcast at 89.1 FM with 120 watts.
Both stations serves Grand County, Colorado and are operated out of its studio in Fraser and Winter Park. While primarily a music station with 50 volunteer DJs, we are expanding our news coverage to include local information, county announcements, and community profiles of local leaders. We are funded through underwriting, local and national grants, and membership.
