KFFR’s Blue Spruce Concert Series welcomed the powerhouse LowDown Brass Band to our studios this August. And, they brought the house down with their unmistakable Chicago sound.
Embodying the vibrant energy of the Windy City, LowDown Brass Band is a one-of-a-kind horn ensemble blending the rhythm of the streets with conscious hip hop, reggae, and soul. Their sound moves from funk to freestyle, from brass tradition to bold experimentation — and our Fraser studio walls were absolutely shaking.
Despite the challenges of the last few years, LowDown Brass Band has stayed busy, releasing three albums — The Reel Sessions, LowDown Nights, and $itizens of the World — each showcasing their evolution and fearless creativity.
Leaning on raw talent and an unshakable love for performance, LowDown Brass Band continues to carve their own path, defying convention and building bridges between genres and generations.
