Joanna Goodman / President

I moved to Grand County in 2007 and have made this beautiful place and community my home. I became involved with KFFR when I met Denis Moynihan, KFFR Founder, at the Ribbon Cutting for the creation of Winter Park’s The Lift Transit System in 2016.  We immediately connected over the fact that we both graduated from Cornell University, however in a different decade.  We became good friends and shared thoughts, ideas, and visions of how KFFR Community Radio could grow in Grand County over many great meals, live music, and of course delicious beverages.  In 2020, I joined the KFFR Board of Directors and have been enthusiastically spreading the mission and vision of KFFR Community Radio since.
I am so proud to see the increase and diversity of DJs that we currently have on the airwaves compared to when the radio used to be on auto-play (MegaSeg) for the majority of the day with very random music. KFFR staff and volunteers have truly created the sound of Grand County that is unique and like no other that can be heard on the planet.
I am working with staff and community leaders to help create the needed connections and relationships to get the KFFR FM signal to reach all parts of Grand County; from the top of Berthoud Pass, north to Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park, and west past Kremmling to the bottom of Rabbit Ears Pass. Keep your ears tuned to KFFR 88.3 FM and stream us at kffr.org when you are out of signal territory.  Of course we cannot make this magic happen without support from our members, businesses, municipalities and grantors.  So I am always working behind the scenes to find more sources of funding to keep our operation running that I care deeply about to help accomplish our mission of connecting Grand County residents and visitors to each other and the world through independent public broadcasting of local news and information, local culture, and amazing and diverse music.  I am so happy and proud that the FM airwaves in Grand County, which were once bleak and dire, are now alive and strong with the most unique and vibrant sounds.
When I am not working hard for KFFR, you can find me working for Rocky Mountain Catastrophe and Restoration, outside enjoying skiing, biking, and rafting with my husband Jeremy and dog Neva, or dancing in the front at live music events. If you see me, please come and say hello!
