The Sound of Grand County is a project that was initiated by KFFR in 2023 and partially funded by the Grand County Tourism Board.  Its goal is to provide a platform for local musicians to showcase their talents and share their music with a wider audience, while promoting the culture and identity of Winter Park and the surrounding area.  

Now in its second year of operation, this initiative has made significant strides in celebrating the rich artistic tapestry in Winter Park and Grand County. In its inaugural year, the Sound of Grand County featured three events, each highlighting a unique facet of the local cultural landscape. The first event celebrated the ranching and cowboy culture that is deeply rooted in the history of the county. The second event showcased local funk, punk and hip-hop artists who are often underrepresented in the traditional musical acts common to the area. The third event was a powerful tribute to women artists whose voices and creativity enrich the region.

This project serves as a powerful avenue for local musicians to gain recognition, share their talents, and promote the vibrant artistic scene in the county.
