Nanda Usseglio

Nanda has always felt welcome and supported in our community. In her new role as a board member for Fraser Valley Community Media, she hopes to strengthen the bonds between different cultures and perpetuate the acceptance that she has received.

Nanda is from Peru and has been a resident of Grand County for over 15 years. She started working at the Winter Park Resort through the resort’s multi-cultural program, the J1 visa program. During her second winter season, she met her husband Forrest, a Colorado native who was excited to introduce her to all the beautiful things Colorado offers. She did a year-long work-study program at the YMCA, where she had a lot of wonderful mentors in the food service industry. She met her business partner, Fernan, while working at Winter Park Sushi Bar, and together, they opened Pepe Osaka’s Fishtaco. Between Fernan’s mastery of flavor and Nanda’s passion for service, Pepes has risen to success in a blink. At a decade old, Pepe’s has become a staple in the county.

Together, Nanda and Fernan, opened One Love Rum Kitchen which now operates in Grand Lake with their business partner, Baxter. Both businesses bring many jobs and housing opportunities to the community, providing diverse cuisine and a unique place to gather.

She recently started Tunki Alpaca with her cousin Chino, which imports alpaca clothing and accessories from her native country.

Nanda’s goal in being part of KFFR is to grow curiosity and knowledge between cultures, similar to what she experienced in her early career in Grand County
