HEARING DELAYED UNTIL FEB. 6th! Read the Full KFFR 90′ Tower Special Use Permit Application – and Email Your Letter of Support to the BOCC!
UPDATE: KFFR’s hearing before the Grand County BOCC has been moved to TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 6th, time TBD.
Please send in your letter of support soon, despite the delay.
Tuesday, January 16th, at 1:30 pm, the Grand County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will meet at the County Building in Hot Sulphur Springs to decide whether or not to approve the Special Use Permit application (SUP) for KFFR’s 90-foot FM broadcast tower.
The application was filed by Fraser Valley Community Media, Inc., (FVCM) the Colorado non-profit that holds the license for KFFR 88.3 FM.
The 90′ tower will allow KFFR to increase its broadcast power as licensed by the FCC, expanding the station’s reach to all of east Grand County.
Public support, in person at the meeting and in advance with letters and emails, is vital.
The Grand County Department of Community Development reviewed and endorsed the SUP. The county Planning Commission, despite overwhelming public support at the Nov. 8th, 2017 meeting, declined to support it by a narrow 4-3 margin (after one commissioner was prevented by the commission chairman from abstaining, and, being forced to vote, voted no).
